Thyen Simmentals is a small family operation that has been raising cattle since 1974.

Ron and Dianne Thyen started the farm in 1974. The family farm sits between Hayti & Castlewood in South Dakota. Mike, wife Patty, live a few miles southeast of the farm; Eva with husband Tom Engebretson and their boy's Isaac and Conner live a mile east; and Kathryn and her husband Steve Jurrens and their daughter's Aralyn and Gianna live in Castlewood.

Thyen Simmentals primarily uses Simmental and Angus genetics and are raising breeding stock along with finishing out, all of the calves.

The families, at Thyen Simmentals, are very excited for the future of the cattle industry and hope to meet many new people and make friendships along the way!
